The other day I stopped by Oxbridge House just to see what they offered and to get a feel for the place. I was pleasantly surprised that when I went in, it was very well laid out and very well organized. I guess I always pictured a place like that to be chaotic and over whelming, but this wasn’t at all.
I decided that I would go home and get all of the gold I was holding on to and sell it. I wasn’t going to do anything with it but hold onto it, so I figured why not cash it in? Let’s be real, I am pretty much addicted to coffee. I have multiple cups a day and the folks at all the coffee shops by my office know me by name. I’ve been drinking coffee for years, but the worst part is how yellow it makes my teeth. They’ve started to get really yellow and show stains from all of the coffee. I know I need to cut back on the coffee, but I was going to need some extra help if I was ever going to get my teeth back to a normal color. We were so excited to move into our new home in San Jose, but we wanted to take care of a few things first before move in day. Going to a winery in Sacramento was my idea of a good time. And I am happy that my date agreed with me, because he took me to Rendez-vous Winery in Sacramento CA for our third date. Because of our work schedules lately, we’ve only been able to have daytime dates, so it was nice of him to still be able to make it a little romantic.
Thanks to Rendez-vous WInery of Sacramento, we were able to have a special and romantic day because we were able to take some time to get to know each other better over one of my favorite activities: wine tasting. And I’m not sure if he was just trying to impress me, but he actually knew a lot about wine. And it worked, because I was impressed.
But aside from being impressed that he knew a lot about wine, I was also impressed with how he treated the other people around us. He was incredibly gracious and courteous to all of the staff and other patrons around us. I liked this because my ex-boyfriend was really rude to the wait staff and I was always embarrassed by it.
At the end of wine tasting at Rendez-vous, once he had decided which wine was my favorite, he surprised me by buying for me. He told me that I didn’t have to share it with him, but that he wouldn’t mind it if he had to take one for the team. I told him that he could have some when I made dinner for him the following week. He seemed to like that idea.
I don’t know what is in our future, but I do know that I had a fun and relaxing day at Rendez-vous in Clarksburg, California. We didn’t get a chance to visit the other wineries, so he told me that if I accepted another date from him, that he would take me there again to visit the other wineries at Old Sugar Mill. I told him that it was a deal!
Ever since our family vacation last year, we started looking around for vacation condos in. As a young family, it is hard for us to get quality time together, but when we went to Maui, we were really able to have quality family time together we rarely get to have. I went to the dentist for a regular check up and ended up deciding to get Invisalign and teeth whitening services. It may seem otherwise, but this wasn’t such a hasty decision. After my children were out of the house, I decided it was finally time to update my smile. With braces, special floss is needed to reach under brackets whereas with Invisalign you can clean your teeth like you normally would.
My experience with Invisalign and My Tooth Spa has been amazing. I feel better than ever about my smile. I am getting compliments from friends and family and I haven’t even finished the straightening process. I highly recommend Invisalign and I highly recommend My Tooth Spa.
The Hawaiian islands are currently facing the worse drought in years. According to the Hawaii Drought Monitor, the percentage of drought in Hawaii is up 33% compared to 20 years ago. This is devastating to a great deal of local commerce, as Hawaii is a large exporter of agriculture.
An industry indirectly impacted by the drought is the ranching industry, as many of the cattle raised are grass-fed. Many ranchers have had to reduce their cattle by one third because of the shortage of grass. As grass-fed beef grow in demand in Hawaii, ranchers are struggling to keep up.
As a result of the drought, beef prices have increased. Although it helps the ranchers to keep the prices for their product high, they are still not high enough to offset the shortage of cattle. Although not as important to the economy as macadamia nuts or coffee, ranchers are becoming frustrated because they simply cannot keep up with the demand.
The drought has been going on since summer, 2008 and authorities warn it may continue. Though most of the drought is centralized on The Big Island and Maui, even the “Garden Island” of Kauai is feeling the effects of the water shortage. Many areas in Maui have even called for voluntary water reduction. This does not bode well for the future of Hawaiian cattle and crops because the drought has been damaging, and will continue to damage, the land for years.
In addition to affecting the local economy, severe drought also serves as a fire threat. A fire during a drought could have even more devastating results and could potentially affect the tourism industry as well as the Hawaii real estate market. Time will tell what the long-term effects of this severe drought will have on the future of the Hawaiian economy, but ranchers remain hopeful they will be able to recover.
Ken Smith of MauiSales.com, a local real estate broker in Hawaii, says property values are holding steady, but if the drought continues, the value of homes could be affected. It’s tough to say what a severe drought can do to the real estate market, especially in Hawaii. Because so many people want to live here; or use Hawaii as a vacation getaway, the drought would have to be fairly substantial and last a long time for the real estate market to be hit. Only time will tell what happens to property values, but I’m very optimistic that home values will remain strong, and the rain will come.

They know their money stays in the community. And they know the business the company stimulates the local economy. While there are many excellent locations to choose from when purchasing a vacation home, San Diego is a popular place for many reasons.
